Domestic Ventilation Calculation - How Many Whirlybirds?
STEP 1
CALCULATING AREA OF YOUR HOME
To find the area of your home, you can either check your floor plans of your home. Or if you do not have access to these then you can simply find the length and width of the house and multiply them together. See the image to the left showing the length and width dimensions of the house. The equation below shows you how to use the figures.
Area of the House = Length (m) x Width (m)
STEP 2
VOLUME OF SHED/WAREHOUSE/FACTORY
To work out the volume of the premises that needs ventilating, simply gather the measurements that are required for the calculation. In the this case we need the Length, Width and Height all in metres.
(Note: The image to the left illustrates where the measurements should be taken from)
With the figures, simply enter them in to the equation below.
Volume (m³) = Length (m) x Width (m) x Height (m)
